Why do I need a CT scan for dental implants?

Using this, we then take a cone beam CT scan.

This scan allows us to see:

• The health of the jaw and the bone
• We can map or highlight nerves and therefore minimize the risk of nerve damage
• The width of bone available for dental implants
• The height of bone available for dental implants
• The quality of bone available for dental implants
• The position of the dental implants is planned
