One box of Invisalign cleaning crystals comes at $44.99. It has 50 packets. One packet can remove plaque from Invisalign aligners and retainers in about 15 minutes.
These are the ingredients in the crystals – Sodium Sulfate, Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Tripolyphosphate, Sodium Dichlorosocyanurate, and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate.
In this article, we will cover the following:
Why you should use crystals?
Step-by-Step guide on usage
Daily Upkeep: Keeping your Invisalign clean is critical to maintaining good dental hygiene and avoiding bacteria growth. Your aligners can stay clean and fresh every day with the aid of Invisalign Cleaning Crystals.
Food and beverage Stains: Over time, stains from eating and drinking may accumulate on your aligners. These stains may be eliminated with the use of Invisalign Cleaning Crystals. This will also improve the look of your aligners.
Smoker’s Discoloration: If you smoke, you can see yellowing or discolouration of your aligners. These stains may be eliminated with the use of Invisalign Cleaning Crystals.
Maintenance: Using the crystals can also increase your aligners’ by keeping them fresh and clean. Using the cleaning crystals, you can ensure your aligners work properly to straighten your teeth. Unclean aligners can hamper the straightening of your teeth.
Overall, Invisalign cleaning crystals will assist in clearing your Invisalign aligners of plaque, germs, and other debris. Your aligners accumulate food particles and bacteria over time. This leads to poor breath and the risk of oral health issues.
Note – Cleaning crystals are not a substitute for brushing and rinsing your aligners with water on a daily basis. Regular cleaning and proper hygiene habits are important for maintaining good oral health and ensuring that your Invisalign treatment succeeds.
Fill the Invisalign cleaning container with water to the fill line.
Add one packet of Invisalign cleaning crystals to the water.
Swish the crystals around in the water until they are completely dissolved. We recommend 20 seconds.
Place your Invisalign aligners into the container and let them soak for at least 15 minutes.
Gently shake/agitate again for 20 seconds.
After soaking, remove the aligners from the container and rinse them thoroughly with warm water to remove any residue.
Dry the aligners with a clean cloth or tissue before placing them back in your mouth.
Repeat this process as needed, but not more than once a day. Overuse of the cleaning crystals can cause damage to the aligners.
Warm water and light soap: You can also clean your Invisalign retainers with warm water and mild soap. Ensure the soap you purchase doesn’t include harsh chemicals or abrasives. After cleaning, properly rinse your aligners under running water to get rid of any soap residue.
White vinegar and water: Combine white vinegar and warm water in a basin in an equal ratio. Your aligners should soak in the solution for 15 to 30 minutes before being completely rinsed with water.
Cleaning agent suggested by the dentist: Your dentist might suggest a cleaning agent that will suit you. This is an excellent alternative if you want to ensure you’re using a safe and effective product for your aligners.
Efferdent: Efferdent is a denture cleaner that can also be used for Invisalign aligners. Simply follow the instructions on the Efferdent package to clean your aligners.
Whatever option you select, it’s critical to remember that brushing and rinsing your aligners with water daily is the most efficient way to keep them clean.
Maintaining good oral health and guaranteeing the effectiveness of your Invisalign treatment requires regular cleaning and basic hygiene practices.

The best method for maintaining aligners is to brush and thoroughly rinse them with water daily. This will remove food crumbs and bacteria from accumulating on your aligners.
You can use a cleaning agent like Invisalign Cleaning Crystals or mild soap and water in addition to routine brushing and rinsing. After cleaning, be sure to completely rinse your aligners to get rid of any leftover cleaner.
A specific line of cleaning supplies from Invisalign is made to be used with their aligners. Even if there are comparable goods on the market, utilising anything that Invisalign has expressly approved is always ideal.
It’s best to ask your cosmetic dentist. Or else, you could endanger your aligners or impair their ability to straighten your teeth correctly.
It could be because of food and drink, bad hygiene practices, or smoking.
Aligners can, over time, develop stains, discolourations, or yellowing.
It’s crucial to brush and rinse your aligners with water daily and clean them both before and after eating, drinking, and smoking to avoid discolouration.
If your aligners are already stained, try using Invisalign Cleaning Crystals or a solution of white vinegar and water to get rid of the stains. But occasionally, discolouration might not be able to be treated, necessitating the replacement of your aligners.Back to Blog
